Abstract

In the previous study, as a new method for evaluating divergent thinking, we have devised a Color Queue Creation Task which evaluates divergent thinking based on the regularity of the Color Queue generated by the user. In this study, we conducted an evaluation experiment consisting of the Color Queue Creation Task with and without time pressure and a conventional evaluation task, AUT(Alternative Uses Test). This study has two objectives; The first is to verify the effectiveness of evaluating the impact of changes in the environment and conditions on divergent thinking by conducting an experiment on the Color Queue Creation Task with and without time pressure. The second is to verify the effectiveness of the Color Queue Creation Task as a new evaluation task that replaces AUT. The results of the experiment showed that divergent thinking in the time pressure condition was higher than that in the no time pressure condition. However, the result was the opposite of what we expected. One factor for this may be that time pressure was not applied appropriately in this experiment.
