Abstract

With the deregulation of the power industry worldwide and the aging of the nuclear power plants(NPP), concerns are growing over the reliability and safety of the NPP as their operating costs are to be reduced. We think that maintenance activity, plant availability, and plant managing are the sensitive fields that require more researches and improved in order to response properly to the above issues. In this paper, we propose the concept of the satellite operation maintenance center, and describe technical development plan to realize it. We describe a framework called Advanced Operation System(AOS). AOS consists of three technical aspects; dynamic operation permission system, information system using interface agent and crew performance evaluation. In the maintenance domain, we propose a framework called Ubiquitous-Computing-based Maintenance support System(UCMS). UCMS consists of three technical aspects; ubiquitous computing infrastructure, augment reality technology and intelligence information processing. We scheduled our project from its preliminary study to the final prototype for 3.5 years, starting from Dec. 2001.
