Abstract

Recently, the technique of controlling indoor environment has attracted in the field of architect engineering, in order to save energy consumption but with promoting office worker¡Çs productivity. Actually, there are so various tasks for the office workers that it is difficult to measure the worker¡Çs efficiency directly and as a whole. Therefore, the subjective evaluation technique called as SAP (Subjective Assessment of workplace Productivity) has been developed, but it has also problems of objective evaluation because there are large deviations among the subjective evaluation by many individuals to the same indoor condition. In this study, the authors aim at developing an objective and quantitative evaluation method which combines the measurements of task performance and psycho-physiological indexes of workers and correlates them with the worker¡Çs subjective evaluation to the changing conditions of indoor environment in order to obtain the WPP to become as objective as possible. If this WPP is applied for appropriate management of indoor condition, both worker¡Çs performance and energy saving can be improved successfully.
